Bowie, born David Robert Jones in London in 1947, was perhaps the single most influential and inventive artists in modern music. After early experiments in the 1960s, he rose to international fame with the 1969 hit “Space Oddity.” In the early 1970s, he created his flamboyant alter ego Ziggy Stardust, blending rock, theatre, and fashion in a way no one had quite seen before.

Bowie constantly reinvented himself—moving from glam rock to soul, electronic music, and pop—producing landmark albums like “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars,” “Young Americans,” "Low" and “Heroes.” His ability to adapt kept him relevant for over five decades.

Beyond music, he acted in films, influenced fashion, and challenged conventions around identity and performance. Bowie passed away in 2016, just days after releasing his final album, “Blackstar.” His legacy remains a cornerstone of modern pop culture.
